Certified breastfeeding support for expat mums
Hi Mama,
If you read this you might be an expat mum in France, possibly struggling with a little baby. Perhaps you’re trying to navigate breastfeeding or attempting to put your little one in the cot at night (spoiler: they prefer your arms!). You may be wondering why this little human is crying and if you've missed something, leading you to seriously doubt yourself.
You might also be overwhelmed with conflicting information about breastfeeding and baby's sleep, looking for reliable, evidence-based resources on those subject.
On top of everything, you might feel quite isolated, far from your home country, surrounded by a foreign language. Even if you are fluent in French, in these challenging times of new motherhood, speaking in English can feel like a much-needed hug on a cold day.
I know this because I've been there, looking for answers in the middle of the night, in a foreign country, looking for my village to raise my child and support me.
So Welcome Here! I would be honored to guide you on your parenting journey!
Who am I? Elise Armoiry, Your IBCLC

My name is Elise, and I am an IBCLC (International Board Certified Lactation Consultant). I have been a Breastfeeding Counsellor since 2016, and before that a Babycarrying consultant.
I am also an Attachment Parenting Educator, and as an IBCLC I specialize in
breastfeeding issues (baby fussing at the breast, breast refusal, breast pain, etc),
baby's crying: fussy baby , colics, reflux
and baby sleep.
I know this sounds like a lot! I am passionate about these subjects, and as a former Pharmacist I am dedicated to provide you with reliable scientific resources to help you make informed choices. This commitment led me to train with Dr Pam Douglas (famous author, researcher and GP in Australia) as a NDC (Neuroprotective Developmental Care) Practitioner

Is telehealth possible and efficient?
YES! I am very comfortable and effective with telehealth and use Zoom, Googlemeet or other chanels to meet you online. I explain everything clearly both verbally (in plain English!) and visually using my doll.

I use the Gestalt Breastfeeding method which I believe is revolutionnary for nipple pain, supply issues or recurrent mastitis.
What is my approach on sleep and sleep training?
I use the Possums approach, which basically debunks lots of myths on baby's sleep and is promoted by the Academy of Breastfeeding Medicine. It is respectful on both parent's mental health and baby's physiology .
Why book a consult with me?
There are countless self-proclaimed "breastfeeding experts" or "sleep coaches" online. I hold formal, professional certifications, and I actively write articles on breastfeeding research for health professionals. I train continusously to expand my knowledge and improve the quality of the support I provide.
What are my values?
Respect
I have a profound respect for the families I work with, whatever their sexual, religious or political orientations and whatever their goal (exclusive breastfeeding/ pumping, mixed feeding with formula, or weaning).
Excellence
I don't have a magic wand so won't promise to solve all of your problems (I am not the "sleep fairy"!) . However I will provide you with the highest quality, evidence-based information to guide you toward the results you want.
Empathy
In a world that can feel aggressive and judgmental, I offer a gentle, non-judging, and compassionate approach.
