Topics covered may include: Cracked nipples, nipple pain, engorgement, milk coming in, prevention of mastitis and blocked ducts, restless baby at the breast (e.g., choking, latching and unlatching), O milk ejection reflex (OMER/Oversupply), hyperlactation, nipple shields, expressing milk, flange sizing, exclusive pumping, returning to work, starting solids, breast refusal, nursing strike, baby crying, GERD (reflux), bottle refusal, breastfeeding a toddler, up to natural weaning, breastfeeding while pregnant, tandem nursing, breastfeeding twins, slow weight gain, baby falling asleep at the breast, supplementation, tongue-tie*, cleft lip and palate, baby’s disability (notably Down syndrome) or mother’s disability (blindness), weaning a baby or toddler. During the consultation, we take stock of your difficulties; I observe, if possible, a feeding or a pumping session, and provide you with information and suggest improvements. Together, we decide on a breastfeeding plan. I generally write a short summary email of the session and offer a follow-up by phone or email included in the price for 1 week. Sometimes a second follow-up session of 30 minutes or 1 hour is necessary in case of persistent difficulties. A preparation email for the consultation will be sent to you beforehand: please check your spam folder. Member access with free videos and general information on breastfeeding will then be available on my website. Plan for me to observe a feeding: if the baby is hungry just before, offer a shorter feeding or a half-bottle. Service not reimbursed by Social Security.
