Many breastfeeding mothers may hesitate to treat their seasonal allergies (Hay fever) because of breastfeeding.

Regarding seasonal allergies, most medications are compatible with breastfeeding. Specifically:
Corticosteroid nasal sprays (budesonide, triamcinolone): local action only, no passage into breast milk.
Anti-allergic eye drops: local action only, no passage into breast milk.
Non-sedating antihistamines are the treatments of choice during breastfeeding: (e.g., cetirizine, desloratadine), whereas for sedating antihistamines, a short duration of treatment is recommended due to the risk of sedation in the child.
